This historic Kentucky bourbon distillery has managed to come back —with the same mash bill — decades after closing its doors. We were thrilled to help bring them into the digital age with a modern, appealing website which shows off their heritage.
Willett's Problem
We’d love to tell you all about our experience working with Willett Bourbon, a historic distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. However, after the “market research” which involved an extensive whiskey tasting from their 15 different labels, our memory is a little bit fuzzy. Fortunately, when we looked at their Google Analytics a year after launch, we stumbled upon a sobering success story.
OOHology's Solution
The adaptive website we built highlighted not just the brand’s extensive history, but promoted the distillery as a tourism destination. We added third-party e-commerce integration as well. No, you can’t buy bourbon online, but you can buy glassware, t-shirts and more from their gift shop. Their product pages included recipes, tasting notes, and a handy “where to buy” feature filtered by restaurants (if you only want a cocktail) or retail (if you’re looking to stock up your liquor cabinet).
