Caring for the Needs of the Caregivers
Galen College of Nursing was founded by nurses with the sole goal of educating and supporting existing and prospective nurses. Galen is one of the largest private nursing colleges in the United States, with five state-of-the-art campuses across the country and a thriving online program. Since opening their doors in 1989, Galen has focused exclusively on nursing degree programs and has successfully graduated more than 11,000 nurses. Despite their meteoric growth, Galen continues to strive to work in a one-on-one mindset, building their programs with the individual in mind.

Communicating a Complex Message
Galen College of Nursing is a large organization with a rich history and foundational story, so it was–and remains–very important that their central messaging be communicated effectively across a wide variety of channels and platforms to a diverse collection of markets and audiences. In addition, each of Galen’s five campuses had its own messaging variables including program offerings, tuition rates, admission requirements, and other campus-specific details.
OOHology was charged with helping Galen adapt its brand messaging and update its website to answer these needs.

Engineering a Sophisticated Site
When you visit Galen’s new homepage, you’ll immediately notice three large prompts geared toward Galen’s two primary audiences: prospective undergraduate students and graduate students. Although current Galen students make up one third of their overall website audience, we knew those visitors would have explicit guidance on where to login, and we wanted to utilize valuable homepage real estate to attract new students.
For prospective students, OOHology was able to create a customized, user-friendly system that allows students and applicants to readily access the information that’s relevant their campus, mitigating concerns about communicating campus-specific messaging in the process. We provided a tiered menu designed specifically to answer students’ questions about everything from admission requirements to career services. We were also able to build them several advanced tools including a tuition calculator and a live chat feature.

A Powerful Force for Students and Nurses
Our solution has been a powerful force for Galen College of Nursing. We’ve been able to help them aggregate multitudes of information and APIs into a single point of reference, and our work has made recruitment easier. Perhaps most importantly, we’ve been able to provide a consistent communication platform for past, current, and prospective students.
